The curry leaf, or Murraya koenigii, is a small tropical to subtropical tree or shrub that typically reaches heights of 6 to 15 feet. It is famous for its flavorful, aromatic curry leaves, which are a key component of Indian and Asian cuisine. This tree is indigenous to wet forests in Sri Lanka and India.
Antioxidants found in curry leaves may shield your body by lowering oxidative stress and scavenging free radicals. Curry leaves may have mild laxative effects and digestive enzymes that can improve bowel movement and aid digestion, according to Ayurveda.
How to Use– The most common way to use curry leaves is in your cooking, specifically when tempering dals or curries. Before adding other ingredients, they are usually combined with mustard seeds and green chilies.
How to store– Distribute the curry leaves on a plate or baking sheet. Allow them to air dry on the counter or in the refrigerator for 2-3 days. They will appear wilted and crispy after drying. These can now be kept in an airtight container or glass jar.
